Since early 2025, the City Council has been working to establish goals and corresponding tactics. The following nine policy areas have been adopted by the City Council as its goals:
- Affordable Housing
- Wildfire Safety and Risk Mitigation
- Arts, Culture and Recreation Funding
- Infrastructure Maintenance and Improvement
- Public Safety
- Diversifying Economy/Tourism Management
- Climate Resiliency
- Financial Stability
- Communication and Relationships
The City Council is currently working to assign corresponding tactics to each of its goals. Tactics are specific tasks or initiatives that help advance the achievement of the respective goal. It is anticipated that the City Council will be finished with this effort by the end of Summer 2025. Once the tactics are assigned to the goals, City staff will then create and share a workplan so that the City Council and public may be aware of progress being made towards accomplishing the City Council Goals and Tactics.
