Resultados Finales del Recuento de Balotas para el Cargo de Alcalde de la Ciudad de Ojai en la Elección General del 8 de noviembre de 2022

(Ventura) – Ventura County Clerk-Recorder, Registrar of Voters Mark Lunn today announced the official recount results for election results certification for the office of Ojai City Mayor in the November 8, 2022 election.

The certified results for the election were announced on December 7, 2022 with the following vote count:

Elizabeth Stix                       1,823 votes
Anson Williams                      1,781 votes

The results of the recount held December 16-21 confirmed the original vote count results:

Elizabeth Stix                       1,823 votes
Anson Williams                      1,781 votes

The recount cost was estimated at $28,500, requiring an initial deposit of $8,000 and a daily rate of $5,500 to be paid as the recount progressed.

“The November 8, 2022 General Election was the last election under my tenure and was executed smoothly and efficiently by the Elections Division, the community election workers, and the County election volunteers. I was not surprised to see the professional team we have built execute a recount with the same precision and expertise,” said Mr. Lunn.

“Since we conduct a manual hand count audit of a random sample of precincts as a part of every election, the team is well versed in the process but it’s been a long time since anyone has gone through the expense of a recount. I am not personally familiar with a recount changing the results of any election but we were happy to be able to show observers some of the procedure we perform throughout the election and all the checks and balances that are in place.”

“I can’t tell you how proud I am to have been able to build this team which includes my Assistant County Clerk Recorder, Michelle Ascencion, who will be taking over as County Clerk-Recorder starting January 2, 2023,” added Lunn. “It is hard to leave this position which has been a dominant part of my life for well over a decade now except, I know I am leaving it to a leader and a team whose experience and integrity will carry this department long past my departure.”
