(March 22, 2023) Report out from the March 21, 2023 Ojai City Council closed session: The Ojai City Council met in closed session on March 21, 2023 to consider a request by the Ventura County District Attorney for the City Council to tape-record future closed sessions together with other related facts and circumstances that might result in litigation. The City Council reports that it continues to consider the District Attorney’s request and has directed the City Attorney to prepare a public written statement regarding recent Brown Act questions and public transparency issues. The City Council will also hold a public workshop regarding the Brown Act and public transparency matters at a future open session City Council meeting. At that meeting and workshop, the City Council intends to consider and implement, once approved by the Council, a series of concrete steps to improve public access to information and transparency.
