Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the City's Public Right of Ways, infrastructure, facilities, and parks. Our goal is to enhance the safety and health of the community, contribute to the community's environmental wellbeing, improve accessibility, and overall, positively impact the quality of life for community residents.
Submit a Service Request with My Ojai
Our goal is to provide you with the best possible support and ensure a positive community experience. My Ojai is a mobile app and web tool through which you can submit questions, concerns, and service inquiries directly to the department. Simply select your topic area below, and enter information, and photos if desired. A City team member will let you know when we receive the request and follow up with information on how it was addressed.

The Public Works Department is compromised of the following functions:
Administration
Handles customer service, prepares department council items, budget development and monitoring, department purchases, processes permits, and overall general support. Administration also oversees the Bike Rack Program for local businesses. For more information on the program click here. Capital Projects
Capital projects focus on the construction of public infrastructure projects and preparing plans and specifications for contractors to bid. This includes preparing a Five-Year Capital Improvement Program updated each year. It sets forth the public improvements to be financed and constructed using public funds. Current Capital Projects.
Streets & Landscaping Maintenance
The Public Works Maintenance crew is responsible for maintaining the City’s streets, sidewalks, tree trimming, landscape medians, parkways, slope areas, graffiti removal within the city right of way. Go to My Ojai to submit a service request.
Transit
Our transit department oversees Ojai Trolley Service. Email.
Cemetery
Nordhoff Cemetery is maintained and operated by the Public Works Department. For relevant information and forms click here. Please call 805-646-5581 ext 200 or email for cemetery inquires.
